This painting is made with oils on linen canvas. A simple white wood frame accompanies the work.
This work is an example of the class I consider to be State Of The Art. At various focal points; near, middle and distant, it has shifting illusory aspects. The name comes from my meditation on newer theories derived from superstrings and higher-order dimensional cosmology. The architecture of the painting is deceptive, because most viewers in its presence perceive the subject to have been painted last. Appearing to float above the rest of the painting, the two scarlet center structures (Bird, Serpent) are actually the gestural beginning of this work, followed by the asymmetrical internal frame and then finishing by constructing the intricate (Brain) structure which forms the majority of the "background." Throughout the execution of this work I sought to exploit the autonomic physical reactivity of the human visual system in order to create a state of constant excitement or activity. The eye is drawn from point to line to plane then back to point again; constantly moving. It is this stimulated motion and the resultant color interactions which imitate biologically and psychologically that which is universal, the expression of matter through dimensional interaction.
