This is an acrylic painting on clay board. It is unframed.
Leaving Portland for the San Francisco Bay Area was a decision forced on me in part due to health, but also a desire to move to a challenging environment. One of the tasks I set for myself at this point was to apply my linear painting technique to each of the painting styles practiced in my body of work. Landscape was an early love and remains a great passion of mine. This work expressed elements of my experiences in Portland combined with those things I expected to find in San Francisco. I will always think of Portland as a city of bridges and roses. I still think of San Francisco as a city of hills. This freely painted work contains elements of both.
